Former Florida and Alabama defensive back DJ Douglas announced on Saturday that he will be entering the 2025 NFL Draft.
Douglas appeared in all 13 games for the Gators during the 2024 season, recording 23 tackles and recovering one fumble. Primarily a reserve and special teams contributor, he transferred to Florida ahead of the 2024 campaign.
The Alabama native shared his decision in a statement Saturday night, expressing gratitude to God, his family, friends, teammates, and coaches. “Thank you, Father God. It’s just a blessing to be here,” Douglas wrote in the caption of his announcement. He concluded the statement with, “After prayer and reflection, I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
Douglas began his college football journey at Alabama, where he redshirted in 2019 and appeared in only one game in 2020. He then transferred to Tulane, spending the next three seasons with the Green Wave.
His best collegiate season came in 2023 at Tulane, where he tallied 54 tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions, and two pass deflections. Over his 37-game career with the Green Wave, Douglas accumulated 80 tackles, one TFL, four interceptions, and three pass deflections.
Before college, Douglas was a 0-star recruit out of Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama. Choosing to walk on at Alabama over offers from Alabama State and Tuskegee, he has transformed his football journey from humble beginnings into an inspiring achievement—earning the opportunity to declare for the NFL Draft.
