BBB News: Leeds United confirm key transfer decision ahead of January window opportunity…

Transfers at Leeds United will continue to be guided by Nick Hammond at Elland Road until the end of next summer’s window at the earliest. The former Newcastle United executive was hired as interim football advisor last June and has impressed with his dealings since then.

The 56-year-old was initially brought in on a short-term contract while the Whites went through a takeover, relegation and managerial recruitment at the same time. United had aimed to hire a permanent director of football by October, but the arrangement with Hammond has instead been extended.

Since Hammond’s June arrival, Daniel Farke has agreed to terms as manager and Gretar Steinsson signed on as technical director. They will now continue to work with chief executive Angus Kinnear under chairman Paraag Marathe to strategise the club’s recruitment.
