Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class took a hit on Sunday when running back Anthony “Turbo” Rogers announced his decommitment. The Carver-Montgomery standout had initially pledged to Alabama in June 2023.
Rogers shared the news via social media, stating, “God’s plan.”
According to Chad Simmons of On3, Rogers is now deciding between Ohio State and Georgia. His Instagram activity indicates recent visits to both programs.
The Crimson Tide still holds a commitment from another 2025 running back, Akylin “AK” Dear, who joined the class in August.
Rogers is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports’ composite rankings, listed as the No. 8 running back and the No. 141 overall player in the class.
Despite the loss, Alabama’s 2025 class remains ranked No. 3 nationally in the 247Sports composite. However, the Crimson Tide has slipped from its former top spot after three recent decommitments: Rogers, linebacker Dawson Merritt (now committed to Nebraska), and wide receiver Caleb Cunningham (flipped to Ole Miss).
Ohio State and Georgia now lead Alabama in the rankings during Kalen DeBoer’s first full recruiting cycle as head coach, following Nick Saban’s departure. The Tide currently has 20 commitments in its 2025 class.
