Tottenham injury updates as Ange Postecoglou’s team approaches full health ahead of their match against Liverpool on Saturday.
Tottenham spends another full week practicing as they get ready to play Liverpool in their second straight top-of-the-table matchup. Ange Postecoglou’s team has so far responded to every query, but Jurgen Klopp’s team may present the toughest test yet.
Liverpool’s previous four games have all ended 3-1, and at this point, it is their ability to score goals that has helped them rise in the league standings. They have also excelled at comebacks, triumphing five times across all competitions after giving up the opening goal.
Tottenham has demonstrated a fresh aspect to their game in response to adversity and has been working with an almost fully fit squad. It has aided Postecoglou in establishing a favorite team and allowing him to gradually reintegrate any returning players. Last week, he gave Brennan Johnson his first start against Arsenal while leaving summer acquisitions Richarlison and Manor Solomon on the bench. There are possibilities for Postecoglou, even though the pitch is still short in some places. However, Johnson had to be removed from the North London Derby with 30 minutes remaining due to a hamstring injury. He won’t be participating in the match against Liverpool.
Brennan won’t be participating from last week, Postecoglou informed the media. He won’t be okay for this weekend, but it’s nothing serious. He is just one of a number of attacking injury concerns that Postecoglou will need to be aware of before the game. During the derby last week, James Maddison, another rookie, was also substituted. After a collision in the second half, he collapsed clutching his knee, leaving the crowd hoping for good news.
