Jamie Carragher responds in an obscene manner as Liverpool furiously react to the contentious Tottenham VAR offside

Jamie Carragher has joined those who are questioning the decision to deploy VAR during Tottenham’s contentious match with Liverpool. Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota were sent off, which reduced the Reds to nine men, but Carragher feels that his former team ought to have taken the lead earlier. The game had fun beginning, but everything changed when Simon Hooper, after being told to review the incident, changed Jones’ foul on Yves Bissouma from yellow to red. It gave Spurs tremendous boost in the game’s 25th minute after they had struggled in the game’s opening minutes.

He [the VAR] is showing him [the referee] the finish motion and that’s not how it truly is – his foot slips over the top of the ball, Gary Neville said on commentary, causing quite commotion over the decision itself. He will receive red card if doing so will result in the game being lost

Neville also added: “I’m not sure, I never am nowadays, I’m less sure about football than I ever have been but I don’t think he’s gone in with any malice. If you see the end part of it in slow motion, you’ll come to the conclusion that it’s a red card.
