When asked which of his former Tottenham teammates he would like to see join him at Bayern Munich, Harry Kane had a clear and immediate answer: Son Heung-min. Speaking at a fan event, Kane named the South Korean international as his top pick for a potential reunion at the Bundesliga club.
Kane’s £120m transfer to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 left Tottenham fans heartbroken. As the club’s all-time leading scorer, his departure marked the end of an era. Kane explained that it was the right moment to move on from North London, but his absence has been deeply felt—not just for his individual brilliance but also for the extraordinary partnership he shared with Son.
From the 2015/16 season to 2022/23, Kane and Son played together 297 times, forming one of the Premier League’s most iconic duos. Their connection was unparalleled, with Son assisting 28 of Kane’s goals and Kane returning the favor for 26 of Son’s—making them the most prolific partnership in Premier League history.
Since Kane’s departure, Tottenham has reshaped its attack with players like Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, Richarlison, and Timo Werner supporting Son. Yet, Kane’s admiration for his former teammate remains strong. If it were up to him, Bayern would make a move to reunite the legendary duo. When asked the question at the fan event, Kane’s response was swift and heartfelt: “Sonny.”
