Steve Sutton raved about Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga as the Reds lost 3-2 at home to Brighton yesterday.
The 21-year-old has been in good form of late and scored his third goal of the campaign against the Seagulls.
Elanga scored after just three minutes and although it’s cliched, Forest perhaps scored too early in this one.
The young Sweden international has been a quality addition to the Forest squad after signing this summer.
He joined the club in the summer for £15 million from Manchester United and he’s not looked back.
Elanga was on hand to net his third goal of the season against Brighton and his header was a lovely finish.
Sutton was impressed and he raved about the Forest player after Elanga had opened the scoring.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham: “Well, that was quite remarkable, wasn’t it? The defenders were pulled into Wood and Elanga was on his own at the back post.”
It’s quite remarkable that Forest got Elanga for £15 million during the summer transfer window.
Okay, so he has moments where his end product could be better but he’s clearly benefitting from regular football.
Elanga has scored three times and also claimed three assists from his 14 appearances for Forest.
That return is pretty impressive and it looks as though there will be more to come from Elanga.
United didn’t play him much at all last season. With that in mind, he was happy to head to Forest in the summer and they’re very lucky to have him.
The Reds haven’t always got their recruitment right under Evangelos Marinakis.
In landing Elanga for the money they did, however, Forest look to have hit the jackpot.
