Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch who is valued at around £13 million.
The 29-year-old has scored five goals with three assists so far in the Bundesliga – with Bremen currently sitting in 12th place.
According to German outlet Bild, Steve Cooper’s side are ‘red hot’ on signing the German with the club unhappy with the impact of Divock Origi.
Ducksch has scored 14 times in 2023, only bettered in the Bundesliga by Harry Kane and fellow Forest target Serhou Guirassy.
With Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury struggles and the fact the striker is heading to AFCON in January, the Reds are targeting another striker to fill the void.
Bremen sold fellow striker Niclas Fullkrug to Borussia Dortmund this summer to try and raise funds to help balance the books.
However, the club are still recording a loss, with Forest looking to take advantage with a deal in the region of £13 million.
Bild’s report also states that Ducksch would be interested in a move to the City Ground, with the 29-year-old keen on a move to the Premier League.
With Ducksch making his Germany debut during this international break, he certainly would have the pedigree of a potential striker Forest should target.
He’s got a very credible goalscoring record at a side that are struggling on and of the pitch, with Ducksch potentially available for a cut-price.
The striking department is a position in which Forest seem to have the least depth despite three players currently occupying it.
However, with Awoniyi going to AFCON, Chris Wood out of contract at the end of the season and Origi only on loan, it is pivotal Cooper looks to strengthen in January
