Your Los Angeles Lakers will be playing in the quarterfinals for the In-Season Tournament on Tuesday night against the rival Phoenix Suns. LA is 2-0 against the Suns this season, including 1-0 over them in the new tournament during pool play. But this time around, Phoenix should have one of their more important pieces on the floor, as Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic writes. All-Star guard Devin Booker will be available for the Suns in this matchup for the first time against the Lakers this season. He missed the previous two games due to injury.
Both games this season have been very close between the Lakers and Suns, making this matchup very intriguing. It showcases a ton of star power, and with Booker healthy, Phoenix will give the Lakers all they can handle.
Booker has the ability to drop 40-plus points any given night, so having him back will cause issues defensively for LA. Luckily for the Lakers, they got back some key pieces to the team recently, Jarred Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura, both of whom should be able to help on defense. The Lakers haven’t been healthy all season long but looked very strong in their win over the Houston Rockets Saturday night. They finally had the majority of their roster, and looked the part of the title-contending team most believed they would be. If they can take down Phoenix in this game, they will move on to the semi-finals of the In-Season tournament. The Lakers have been very motivated to win the whole thing, and the hope is that they can keep up their winning ways here.
