JUST IN: Liverpool without five players for Fulham as major return confirmed

Liverpool return to Premier League action today as they face Fulham at Anfield with a 3pm kick-off. Arne Slot’s team will be aiming to solidify their lead at the top of the table, where they currently hold a four-point advantage over second-placed Chelsea.

However, Fulham won’t make it easy. Marco Silva’s side proved their resilience last weekend by holding title contenders Arsenal to a draw at Craven Cottage.

This means Liverpool will need to deliver a strong performance to secure the win. On a positive note for manager Slot, the club’s injury situation is improving. In recent weeks, Liverpool have been without several key players, but Tuesday night’s match against Girona saw the return of first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker after a two-month absence.

Additionally, Diogo Jota is back in contention following a similar spell on the sidelines. Jota had been out since sustaining an upper-body injury in a clash with Tosin Adarabioyo during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Fulham in October.

Federico Chiesa is also nearing a return, though Slot revealed the Italian may need more time before being fully match-ready. Chiesa has made just three appearances since joining from Juventus for £10m in August.

Jota participated in full training this week, and Slot confirmed that both he and Chiesa could be options on the bench for today’s game against Fulham.
