Leeds, according to Daniel Farke, has a truly ‘world-class’ football team. They have a 24-year-old in their ranks.

The Leeds manager insisted that he knows what he’s doing because he was a striker himself and has a strong track record coaching forwards and in the Championship.

Piroe joins Leeds in the summer, bringing with him a prolific record from Swansea.

So far this season, the 24-year-old has six goals in 11 games, including four in ten Championship appearances.

Some have questioned Piroe’s role at Leeds, wondering why he isn’t leading the line instead of playing in the hole.

Farke, on the other hand, has now made it quite plain why this was the case.

“Some of Joel’s qualities would tempt me to play him as the lone striker,” he says, according to the Yorkshire Post.

“His finishing is top-notch.” Even in our country, it’s difficult to find better players. You can go to the halfway line if he has the ball close to the box because that is where the next touch is.

“However, because Leeds United wants the ball at all times, we need players to lead the intensity of the pressing.”

“Because we are frequently dominant against teams parking the bus, we require a striker who stretches the opponent by running in behind and making intelligent movements.”

“I wouldn’t say his pressing skills are the best in the league.”
