Jermaine Beckford told Leeds United’s Matchday Show that Joe Rodon has done “wonders” for the club since signing from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, praising the Welshman’s “leadership qualities.”
Rodon, 25, has shone for Leeds, preserving four clean sheets in seven starts in defense. The Wales international has forged an excellent relationship with Pascal Struijk in the midst of the back line.
Leeds have won four of their previous six league games, propelling Daniel Farke’s side into the top six as the season enters its second international break. Rodon has been an integral part of that form.
“He was in a scenario where he should not have been sent off. I can see the leadership traits he possesses. He and Struijk get along wonderfully. It worked beautifully, keeping everything tight in the back.”
With Robin Koch departing the club, Leeds needed to bring in a right-footed central defender who could help us achieve an immediate return to the Premier League, and Rodon has been that man. A member of the Premier League.
One is that if Leeds do wind up returning to the Premier League at the end of the season, we will need to seriously contemplate a permanent deal for the centre-back. He’ll be crucial to our push.
Rodon has been outstanding, demonstrating why Tottenham paid £15 million to get him in October 2020. Beckford has now provided his opinion on the Leeds defender, claiming that he has enhanced Leeds’ defense.
