Leeds Ready Late Transfer Twist with Man Utd Attacker Incoming and Liverpool Youngster Confirmed

Leeds United have moved ahead of Nottingham Forest in the chase for Manchester United academy winger Silva Mexes. The 15 year old is expected to depart Old Trafford when his deal runs out, and he may not be the only youngster heading to Thorp Arch, with another prospect emerging from Liverpool FC’s academy system.

Leeds committed more than £100m to strengthening their squad over the summer, bringing in 10 new players as they aimed to secure their Premier League status. Traditionally known for producing homegrown talent, the club has recently leaned more on external recruitment, especially after academy products Charlie Cresswell and Archie Gray moved on.

Still, a new generation is beginning to surface. Harry Gray, Archie’s brother, has been loaned to Rotherham for senior experience, while Alfie Cresswell is also highly regarded and has earned praise from manager Daniel Farke.

The recruitment drive at youth level continues. After completing an out-of-window move for Manchester United youngster Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher, Leeds are now pushing to secure Mexes. According to The Talent Hunter, the Yorkshire side are favourites to land the Thailand Under-17 international, who has featured for United’s Under-16s this season. With his contract expiring in two months, Leeds are said to be leading the race ahead of Forest and Ipswich, and a deal is believed to be close.

Leeds are also confident of adding further depth from Liverpool’s ranks. Alongside recent arrivals Kai Morell and Jayden Lienou, the Whites are now closing in on Liam Balmer. The 16 year old right back confirmed on Instagram that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at the club. He later shared reports linking him with a switch to Elland Road.

An England Under-17 international, Balmer is viewed as a significant addition as Leeds continue to stockpile promising young talent for the future.
