UPDATE : Major reason why Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were dropped ahead of the Manchester derby

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim excluded Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the squad for the recent Manchester derby, citing their unsatisfactory training performances.

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand suggested that Amorim’s decision was influenced by an incident during training, reflecting the manager’s emphasis on discipline and high standards.

Following his omission, Rashford was sent home from training due to illness and later expressed a desire for a “new challenge,” indicating he may seek a move away from Manchester United.

Amorim acknowledged Rashford’s comments, stating that the player “is right” in his perspective.

Additionally, Manchester United has initiated an investigation into the source of leaked team news prior to the derby, with players including Garnacho being questioned.

Amorim has expressed his intolerance for such breaches of confidentiality within the team.
