Manchester United will return to action on Sunday for the highly anticipated Manchester derby against Manchester City.
Rúben Amorim’s team will aim to avoid a third consecutive Premier League defeat when they travel to the Etihad Stadium. United previously suffered a 2-0 loss to Arsenal, followed by a shocking 3-2 home defeat to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford last weekend.
Despite their recent struggles, the Reds received a confidence boost with a 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. However, Amorim still faces significant challenges with a squad currently sitting 13th in the Premier League standings after 15 matches.
One potential addition to the team is Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, who has been linked with a move to M16. According to Italian journalist Graziano Campi, a swap deal involving Joshua Zirkzee could be on the cards, despite Zirkzee only joining United this summer.
“A Vlahović-Zirkzee swap, in my opinion, is not far-fetched, especially as Vlahović has yet to renew his contract,” Campi told Calciomercato.it. “If he renews, let’s not forget he’s currently the top-scoring striker in Serie A for 2024.”
Campi also suggested that Victor Lindelöf, who has only played 58 minutes in the Premier League this season, might attract interest from Juventus.
