BREAKING: Man Utd Reveal plans to sell midfielder in January

Manchester United’s Premier League campaign has gotten off to a disappointing start.

The Red Devils have endured six defeats in their first 15 matches, leaving them eight points behind Manchester City, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.

Manager Ruben Amorim may receive limited financial backing during the January transfer window, but the club’s hierarchy could consider raising additional funds through player sales.

According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, United might be open to selling Christian Eriksen this winter if a suitable offer is presented.

Eriksen could depart after losing favor under Amorim

The Danish midfielder started the season well under former manager Erik ten Hag. With injuries to Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount, Eriksen was a regular starter and managed four goals and three assists in his first 13 appearances.

However, while he retained his spot in Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge, he has since been left out entirely, remaining an unused substitute in the last four matches.

Eriksen, hailed as “world-class” by Brentford manager Thomas Frank, has long been known for his creativity and goal-scoring ability. But at 31, he is no longer at his peak, and his performances have sometimes lacked control in midfield. His limited mobility has also raised concerns, as Amorim reportedly favors more dynamic and physically robust midfielders.

With Eriksen’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Manchester United might be willing to accept a modest transfer fee in January. Offloading the Dane could also free up part of his £150,000-per-week wages, allowing the club to reinvest in a new signing.
