Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has provided an injury update on two key players ahead of tomorrow’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.
Under Amorim’s leadership, the Red Devils have made notable progress, including a remarkable 2-1 comeback victory over Manchester City in the Premier League.
However, in that match, midfielder Mason Mount was substituted early due to injury, and Amorim confirmed he will not be available for the trip to north London.
Noussair Mazraoui also suffered an injury during the City game. Amorim mentioned that the Moroccan’s condition will be evaluated before the League Cup clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He told Manutd.com: “Mason Mount is not available. He has an injury. Nous, we will see today. The rest of the squad are ready to play the game. We have to assess all the players and try to avoid further injuries. If we do that, we’ll be stronger in these moments.”
Since Amorim took over, United’s form has been mixed, but the win over City should boost the team’s confidence.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were left out of the squad against City for tactical reasons, and it remains to be seen if they will be included for the Cup tie.
Despite these challenges, United head into tomorrow’s match with optimism. They have been improving offensively and will look forward to facing Spurs on their home turf.
Earlier this season, Spurs defeated United 3-0 at Old Trafford, though the result was influenced by a red card for Bruno Fernandes, which was later overturned. United now have the chance to redeem themselves and advance to the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
