The Cleveland Browns are 7-3 and just a half-game back of the top record in the AFC. With injuries continuing, instead of looking to add younger players who could develop, GM Andrew Berry has pivoted to veteran players this week to help out for injured players.
First, to replace Deshaun Watson, QB Joe Flacco was added by Berry via free agency. Flacco could be able to do for Cleveland some of the things Jacoby Brissett did the season before.
Then, in an attempt to partially replace Rodney McLeod, who was gone for the season, the Browns added seasoned safety Duron Harmon to the practice squad on Wednesday. There are a couple other alternatives available that may be included as well.
Harmon has played in the NFL for eleven seasons, the last seven of which he spent with the New England Patriots. Over his career, the former third-round pick has accumulated 23 interceptions.
With the Chicago Bears in 2023, Harmon participated in three games, making one start.
Jordan Kunaszyk, a linebacker for Cleveland, was also cleared to return from injured reserve this week. Over the following three weeks, Kunaszyk might be activated back onto the team to assist add depth at the position and on special teams.
Later this afternoon, we’ll have additional information about the Harmon signing.
