The Cleveland Browns don’t mess around. They started the season with a big game where they dominated the defense and earned a spot in the division and in the playoffs.
They did it despite being without Nick Chubb and Deshaun Watson for most of the season. So star quarterback Juan Thornhill wanted to remind all those mocking him and his team where he stands (via The Chosen Juan on Twitter). In Week 5, Thornhill claimed they had the best defense in the world, and after the regular season ended, it’s hard to dispute that assessment. The Browns defense helped them figure out the QB situation while also holding down the fort. The offense turned the ball over at an incredible rate, so no other team with so many giveaways would have such a good record. But Jim Schwartz’s unit always changed the field, giving his offense another opportunity to put points on the scoreboard, and their effort should not be underestimated. The Browns now travel to Texas to face the Houston Texans. This is a far greater feat than experts originally thought. We’re in win or go territory, so anything can happen at this point. But even if the Browns can’t take it one step at a time and continue this incredible momentum with a deep postseason run, they still deserve a lot of credit for what they’ve accomplished this season.
