Just In: Injury update, details on Browns RG Wyatt Teller…

Which one of these Cleveland Browns offensive linemen has not been injured or is still recovering from an injury this year?

Jack Conklin, James Hudson, Luke Wypler, Dawand Jones, Wyatt Teller, Hakeem Adeniji, Jed Wills, Germain Ifedi, and Joe Thomas (Editor’s laugh).

The Browns keep 10 offensive linemen each year, and that is never enough.

Teller left the Giants game with a knee injury. It is a probability that Teller will be placed on IR. Head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed in his Monday Zoom conference that Teller will miss “multiple weeks” which is expected to be a minimum of four weeks.

Teller’s incident occurred as he was blocking on the missed 53-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins with 10:45 remaining in the third quarter. Stefanski stated he later said injury reserve was a “possibility” that they “were working through” for Teller. It has since been described as a Grade 2 sprain.

Update:

The Browns are placing Teller on injured reserve:

The offensive line is a huge problem area even when all of its parts are available. This unit has allowed 16 sacks which is dead last in the league. They have also given up 47 pressures and it is just three games played.

Teller has been selected to three consecutive Pro Bowls including last year. He has also been voted Second Team All-Pro in 2020 and 2021.

Currently, on the depth chart, it is rookie Zak Zinter behind Teller although Stefanski has not named a replacement. Also on the roster is rookie Javion Cohen listed as a backup guard. The practice squad lists Ifedi as an experienced player who can play guard.

Zinter was put into action against the New York Football Giants and inserted at right guard. His Pro Football Focus overall grade was a 58.6 which was slightly higher than LG Joel Bitonio (54.5), C Nick Harris (52.1) and LT Jed Wills (51.9) and tops among all Browns offensive linemen. He had a pass-blocking grade of 65.3 and 54.1 in run blocking.

Stefanski did not have updates on Wills (knee) or Hudson (shoulder) who both left Sunday’s game with injuries.
