TRANSFER NEWS: Chelsea consider £19m youngster part of first team despite not playing a single minute under Enzo Maresca

Chukwuemeka and Casadei have only featured in the Conference League and Carabao Cup, while Washington and Kellyman have yet to play under Enzo Maresca.

Omari Kellyman is now considering a move away from Chelsea in the January transfer window to secure regular playing time.

Kellyman, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in the summer for £19 million, has endured a challenging season due to injury. Despite being fit in August, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder played for Chelsea’s U21 side instead of Maresca’s team before suffering a hamstring injury.

According to GiveMeSport, Kellyman is still regarded as part of Chelsea’s first-team squad. During his recovery, he has been focusing on building muscle mass.

Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu face limited opportunities
Another young player, Marc Guiu, also finds himself in a similar situation after being signed by Chelsea in the last transfer window.

The striker has only made one Premier League appearance this season but remains part of Maresca’s group, as evidenced by his outings in the Conference League. The former Barcelona forward has played seven games in the competition, including qualifiers, and scored three goals.

Guiu showcased his talent by netting twice in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Astana. However, like Kellyman, the Spain U19 international might benefit from a loan spell to gain more playing time.

Despite his clear potential, Guiu has struggled to consistently display his abilities this season. Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy praised Guiu’s performance against Astana, particularly his “brilliant” first goal. However, with the depth of quality in Chelsea’s squad, both Guiu and Kellyman face significant challenges in securing spots in Maresca’s starting XI.
