JUST IN: Jackson’s goal against Brentford was a thing of beauty and the Ex-red star explains why it was so challenging.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has hailed Nicolas Jackson’s goal against Brentford as a “thing of beauty.”

Chelsea secured their fifth consecutive Premier League victory with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Brentford, moving just two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Jackson has been among several players to thrive under the management of Enzo Maresca this season. Despite Chelsea’s well-documented pursuit of a striker during the summer transfer window, including their interest in Victor Osimhen, Jackson has stepped up to establish himself as a key player.

The 23-year-old Senegalese forward has registered nine goals and three assists in 15 league matches, earning praise from former Chelsea star Pat Nevin, who believes Jackson is on track to surpass 20 goals this season.

While Jackson still has areas to refine, particularly his finishing, his improvement in that regard has been evident this season. Although he missed a clear opportunity in the second half against Brentford, Jackson remained confident he would get another chance—and when he did, he converted a far more challenging opportunity with precision.

Foster, speaking on his YouTube channel, expressed admiration for the goal, saying: “Jackson’s finish [against Brentford] was a thing of beauty. As a goalkeeper, when he’s running through like that, I would bet most of my money on him going to my right—it’s the easier finish. But he made it look effortless.”
