DEAL DONE: Chelsea finally Confirm new Josh Acheampong deal in huge contract coup

Chelsea have secured a new long-term deal with young talent Josh Acheampong.

The 18-year-old had been negotiating improved terms for some time amid interest from other clubs, and has now committed to a contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029.

Acheampong, who made his first-team debut last season under Mauricio Pochettino and was part of Enzo Maresca’s pre-season squad for the US tour, is highly regarded. He appeared in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup match against Barrow in September but was sidelined due to a contract dispute. However, tensions began to ease last week when he made his first start for the club in the Conference League match against Astana.

Chelsea has now reassured the teenager that there is a clear pathway to regular first-team football, and he has resumed daily training with the senior squad.

Acheampong could feature again in the starting lineup against Shamrock Rovers on Thursday.
