Kion Etete has entered Cardiff City’s list of questionable players, and Erol Bulut is hoping the striker has not sustained a catastrophic injury.
Tuesday’s 2-0 loss at Middlesbrough was caused by the removal of Etete, Cardiff’s five-goal top scorer.
Aaron Ramsey and Yakou Meite are just a couple of the players the Bluebirds are already missing.
“Etete hurt his hamstring. He is in anguish. Bulut, the manager of Cardiff, stated, “I hope it’s nothing serious.
With their four-game winning streak in the Championship coming to an end against Middlesbrough, Cardiff will face Watford on Saturday in an effort to rebound from the setback.
Etete, 21, has had a strong start to the year, scoring in three Carabao Cup games as well as league victories over Rotherham United and Coventry City.
Since Ramsey, an offensive midfielder for Cardiff, already has a knee injury, Bulut expressed his optimism that the Wales captain won’t require surgery after the Cardiff match against Middlesbrough. Meite, a former Reading attacker, was also absent at the Riverside after leaving last Saturday’s triumph against Rotherham clutching his hamstring. Jamilu Collins was also unable to travel with the Boro due to knee and hamstring problems. Josh Bowler, a summertime addition, and Callum O’Dowda haven’t played since August.
