BOSTON – After missing the last four games with a left calf strain, Kristaps Porzingis appears to be on track to return to action Friday night when the Boston Celtics host the New York Knicks at TD Garden.
Porzingis participated in a full practice Wednesday as well as a few additional scrimmages after practice and appeared to move with ease throughout.“We’ll see how he reacts tomorrow, but he’s made really good progress and we hope he’ll be ready,” Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said. “I don’t want to put words in his mouth…but he looked good today.”From Porzingis’ own mouth, he thinks he’ll be ready to give the first tip Friday night.“The calf feels good,” he said after practice.
“I had a good session, top to bottom, throughout training and I felt good… I haven’t spoken to the medical staff yet but I think after what I have done today, I should be ready to go (Friday).”
