Tottenham Hotspur is apparently in talks with Johan Lange, the current global head of football development and international academies at Aston Villa, about taking over for departing director of football Fabio Paratici.
Italian Paratici left Spurs earlier this year after being issued a 30-month suspension from all football-related activities by FIFA, which was partially overturned on appeal. Since that time, Villa’s Premier League competitors have been without a substitute.
tale Solbakken during his ill-fated spell in charge of rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, arrived at Villa from FC Copenhagen in his native Denmark in the summer of 2020 as Villa sought to build on their dramatic Premier League survival. On his watch, the Lions recruited the likes of Matty Cash, Emi Martinez, Ollie Watkins and Ross Barkley.
But this past summer, Villa hired Monchi to serve as their head of football operations, replacing Lange, who had replaced Jesus Garcia Pitarch upon his arrival. Lange received a new post as part of the restructure. Now that Spurs are considering hiring him, he might be moving within the Premier League, according to The Athletic.
