Chelsea aren’t actively looking to sell the Senegal international, but they will consider a permanent departure if a suitable offer is submitted following the signings of both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
However, Arsenal are currently focused on finalising a deal for the Sweden international amid an ongoing dispute with Sporting CP over add-on payments.
In fact, the north London giants have now rejected the chance to sign Jackson this summer, according to X account HandofArsenal, who broke news of Noni Madueke’s move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Chelsea star’s agent, Ali Barat, reportedly offered his client’s services to Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta’s side have snubbed the chance to complete a transfer in favour of finally bringing Gyokeres to the club.
Mikel Arteta comments on recent Chelsea signings
Arsenal have signed eight Chelsea players in the last 10 years, with six of those deals being completed since Arteta’s appointment in 2019.
This has become an increasing concern amongst Arsenal fans, but Arteta was quick to ease supporters’ worries during his first conference of the Gunners’ pre-season tour of Asia.
When asked why his side have signed so many players from Chelsea in recent years, Arteta said: “Probably because they have some great players and a lot of players.
“We tried to focus on the players we want to sign regardless of the club they are in.”
