Tottenham Hotspur currently sit 11th in the Premier League, having suffered more losses than wins this season. Significant improvements are needed on the pitch, and manager Ange Postecoglou is eager to bolster his squad during the upcoming January transfer window.
One potential addition is Randal Kolo Muani, a striker who has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe. The French international joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2023 for £77 million (as reported by Goal) but has struggled to meet expectations, scoring only two goals this season.
The Boot Room Football previously revealed in early November that PSG are open to letting Kolo Muani leave in January. Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of the striker, who is also on Tottenham’s radar. Journalist Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany has confirmed Tottenham’s interest, noting that other clubs, including Liverpool and RB Leipzig, are monitoring the situation. PSG is open to a loan deal but is keen to include an obligation to buy.
Plettenberg tweeted:
“Randal Kolo Muani is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain during the winter transfer window. Concrete talks with potential teams about a loan deal are ongoing. PSG would like to include an obligation to buy. Currently, there is a strong chance he will move to the Premier League.
“Understand Liverpool have gathered information, but nothing further has happened yet. Manchester United are monitoring the situation, but MUFC do not currently expect a transfer to happen in January.
“Tottenham and RB Leipzig are interested. More teams keen on him.”
Interestingly, Kolo Muani was Tottenham’s primary target in the summer of 2023 following the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. At the time, the French striker was coming off a stellar season with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he recorded 23 goals and 17 assists in all competitions. However, he chose to join PSG, a move that has not gone as planned.
With January approaching, Tottenham now have another opportunity to secure the striker, who could provide much-needed firepower in their attack.
