Martin Odegaard is inching closer to making a return to action for Arsenal after an injury issue that has kept him out for roughly two months. The midfielder has struggled with an ankle issue he picked up during the September international break with Norway.
Upon his return, it was revealed that ligament damage would keep him out, which has come as a big problem for Mikel Arteta.
Without the club captain, Arsenal has had some challenging results, but he might be able to make a comeback in time for Inter Milan’s Champions League match.
That’s because Odegaard was pictured back in training ahead of the tie on Wednesday night, which could see him back in the squad.
As per The Standard, Odegaard has: “Been training on the grass for a few weeks but Arsenal will be wary about rushing him back after a long spell out.”
Arteta will be aware of the risk of aggravating the former Real Madrid man’s complaint and sending him back to the treatment table if he demands too much of the midfielder too quickly. The Spanish coach will be hoping that the player can make an impact from the bench in Italy though.
This has been a significant injury for Odegaard, with an intensive recovery regime that has required the latest innovations in rehabilitation technology to get him back in action so quickly after he damaged his ankle ligaments.
