Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones (33) does a Lambeau Leap with fans following a 31-29 victory against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Vikings are 2-0 to start the season and the Packers dropped to 2-2 on the season. Jones didn’t score a touchdown, but he rushed for 93 yards on 22 carries and also caught four passes for 46 yards receiving.

The Vikings star running back spoke to the media after the game was over. Alec Lewis, the Minnesota Vikings of The Athletic, reported that Jones mentioned that his Mom called him and mentioned that there were billboards of him up in Green Bay. Jones added:

“That touched my heart.”

For a very long time, he was one of the fan favorites for the Packers. It was sad when the Packers released him in the offseason when they signed Josh Jacobs. Jacobs has been productive for Green Bay this season. Also, the Packers’ defense did not let Jones reach the end zone and didn’t do the Lambeau Leap.

The next time that Green Bay will face Jones and the Minnesota Vikings will be on Sunday, December 29th. It will be in Minnesota and it will be in Week 17. It will be interesting to see where the Vikings and the Packers are in the NFL Standings by the time that matchup rolls around.

No one expected the Minnesota Vikings to be successful this season. It could be a game where the Packers are fighting for a playoff spot and where the Vikings are trying to win the NFC North Division.
