Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant faces a familiar foe to win it all. PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns failed to realize their dreams in Las Vegas.
They lost 106-103 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, ultimately dropping them just short of the semifinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament in Sin City.The final four teams have been announced as the Milwaukee Bucks will take on the Indiana Pacers today at 3pm MST before the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Lakers at 7pm MST.
The two winners will face off Saturday night for the first-ever NBA Cup.After being eliminated by LA, Suns forward Kevin Durant was asked what his pick was to win the tournament:“I’ve been with the Lakers since they beat us,” Durant said.
“They have the size to compete with anyone. They have the fastest flight of all. They have the most fans, so they are ready to win. I can’t wait to watch. The intensity of the matches was incredible. Like I said, I wasn’t a fan when they started, but now I’m a big fan of the current [tournament] and I can’t wait to watch it.
The Lakers are the only semifinal team the Suns have faced so far, with Phoenix losing all three meetings to LeBron James and Co.Their first game against one of the other three teams isn’t until Jan. 19, when the Suns face New Orleans on the road.
