The Cincinnati Bengals are set to bring in Drew Plitt to aid their quarterback room. With Joe Burrow going down with a torn wrist ligament, the Bengals’ situation under center is in limbo.
Jake Browning is the guy for now, and AJ McCarron may be behind him, but moving forward, there is certainly some uncertainty.
According to WLWT’s Olivia Ray, Drew Plitt will likely be signed to the Bengals practice squad if he passes a physical.
The 6-foot-2 Plitt played collegiately at Ball State. In his last three seasons, he combined for 59 touchdowns and just 19 interceptions, ending his collegiate career with over 9,000 passing yards.
In his final season, Plitt threw for 2,541 yards and 18 touchdowns. He played his high school football at Loveland, a suburb of Cincinnati.
Looking ahead, Plitt could have an outside shot at cracking the 53-man roster at some point this season and may end up seeing some snaps if Browning and McCarron struggle.
