Ahead of the Suns Wednesday night matchup against the red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves, Devin Booker spoke about the frustration behind the injuries that have been rampant early on this season.
While Booker has only played in two games, he has not been the only one who has caught an injury bug.
Bradley Beal missed the first two weeks of the season and, since returning last Wednesday, has not particularly been fully healthy.
Tonight against the Timberwolves will be the first time that the Suns big three of Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Kevin Durant will share the court together on the same team.
Here is what Booker had to say about his emotions towards playing tonight as he returns from a calf injury.
Ready to go; it’s been what 13, two weeks, 13-14 days; I’m just trying to get back; I would say rehabbing is harder than playing; you have a lot more responsibilities; I just want to go out there and play.
Speaking on how he feels about the Suns big three finally getting a chance to prove themselves tonight, Booker said:
“Super excited; obviously we were out there together during preseason; you know the short stints we got together you know were high energy and fun, you know you have seen potential there
And Booker also commented on how the past two games have affected the Suns.
In both games, Phoenix forfeited 4th quarter leads.
“Um, no, you know I took my time with this one. You know I was coming back if we were on a winning streak or a losing streak right now. You know it is a long season; we are not going to overreact, still a lot of basketball to be played.”
Entering Wednesday, the Suns hold a 4-6 record, placing them 10th in the Western Conference.
However, as Booker pointed out, there is still plenty of time left as the season is still in its early days.
