Your Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Phoenix Suns tonight for the second time this season, and it seems that Phoenix will be missing one of their key pieces in the game.
While Bradley Beal seems probable to play, All-Star guard Devin Booker remains out for this matchup against LA, and it will also mark the second time that he doesn’t suit up against the Lakers.
The Lakers come in on a three-game losing streak, and they need to grab this game to avoid going winless on their mini-road trip. The team has been hit with multiple injuries across the roster, and it has hurt their on-court production.
The Lakers will still have to deal with the Suns two-headed monster of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Beal made his Suns debut the other night, so he is still getting his legs under him, but Durant has been around playing well all year.
In the second game of the season for the Lakers, Durant almost single-handedly took down LA by scoring 39 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. The Lakers will need to find a way to slow him down here if they want any chance to stop their losing streak.
Booker not playing in this game allows the Lakers to focus in on guarding Beal a little more, so they can send more guys his way. However, the team has been decimated with injuries, notably to their wing players lately, so it could cause issues here.
The Lakers are going to need an entire team effort in this matchup if they want to come out on top. It remains to be seen who plays in the game, but no matter, they need to halt this streak.
LA needs to start picking up some wins, so they can stay afloat in the Western Conference. They don’t want to be playing catch-up all season, like they were a year ago, as it hurt them in the playoffs with fatigue.
