Real Madrid reportedly have no plans to sign anyone in the January window, handing Liverpool a potential boost in their pursuit for Goncalo Inacio.
According to Marca, Los Blancos have no intention of recruiting anyone in the upcoming winter market, with Carlo Ancelotti pleased with his current squad, who could go top of La Liga tonight with a win.
Madrid have been strongly linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon defender Inacio in recent weeks, with a January move for the £52m-rated centre-back being rumoured.
However, this update now seems to suggest that no such move will happen in January, leaving Liverpool with a golden chance to sign Inacio in 2024.
Indeed, the Reds are in need of a top defensive recruitment in the upcoming window, and Inacio could be a dream signing for Liverpool with Madrid now out of the race.
For Jurgen Klopp, the plan now should be to wrap up the signing as quickly as possible, with Inacio a prospect that is too good to slip through Liverpool’s fingers in January.
Madrid’s decision to not make any signings in January is an interesting one yet understandable given how difficult the market is at this time of the year.
Yet for Liverpool, Madrid’s new stance will give the Reds the chance to move for Inacio unopposed by a European giant, with the Anfield side arguably the favourites for the defender.
With a £52m asking price, Liverpool need to act fast if they’re to add Inacio to their ranks, with the Portuguese international an ideal signing this January for Klopp’s squad.
