After a concerning start to the season, Robbie Savage believes Erik ten Hag should be given until at least Christmas to get his Manchester United career back on track.
The former member of the Reds academy questioned a number of Ten Hag’s summertime moves, including his hiring practices and his decision to give Bruno Fernandes the captaincy. He has called the state of affairs at Old Trafford “a mess” and attributes some of the problem to the lack of a clear playing philosophy.
After losing 3-0 to Manchester City on Sunday, the team has only triumphed in half of its first ten Premier League games. In their upcoming league game against Fulham, Ten Hag’s club is currently 11 points behind the top spot and might drop out of the top half of the standings.
“There’s no denying that this season Manchester United has regressed, but I went on record saying that Erik ten Hag had done one of the best jobs in the world to get them to the top four in the Premier League and two cup finals,” Savage said to Planet Sport Bet.
