Even David Beckham, a co-owner of Inter Miami and one of the most well-known players in history, has struggled to find Messi’s No. 10 jersey due to the magnitude of Messi fever in US soccer.

Only seven months after leading Argentina to victory at the World Cup, Lionel Messi moved to the United States to play for Miami, making him one of the biggest MLS acquisitions ever.

America went into a frenzy upon the arrival of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, with ticket prices for Miami matches soaring and goods selling like never before.

The New York Times reports that Beckham has been forced to hold off on giving pals gifts of Messi’s pink No. 10 Miami shirt due to its rapid sales.

Despite being a global celebrity and a part-owner of the team, Becks has had trouble finding a Messi shirt ever since luring the Barcelona great to Miami, with Adidas apparently selling more than they can produce.

The upcoming Inter Miami uniform will be unveiled in February in time for the start of the MLS season, which will mark Messi’s first complete campaign in the United States.

 

After joining from Paris St. Germain in July, the 36-year-old missed the first four months of the previous season and was unable to assist the team in reaching the MLS playoffs this year.

Miami’s season is already finished after they were eliminated from the playoffs, but Messi did manage to lead them to their first-ever trophy in the League Cup final back in August.

Because of this, Inter’s jersey has surpassed the jerseys of established European powerhouses Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal to become the best-selling soccer shirt in North America.

King of sports apparel With the exception of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, Fanatics has sold more Messi jerseys than any other athlete. No player in any sport has ever sold more on the website in the first twenty-four hours following a transition from one team to another.

Despite this, the supply-and-demand issue is not anticipated to persist in the 2024 campaign, as the manufacturer is now certain that it has enough of the next Messi jersey to match demand.
