I HAVE CONFIDENCE: Sami Hyypia thinks £12m player is ready to start regularly for Liverpool now

Sami Hyypia, a former player for Liverpool, has supported Kostas Tsimikas to improve in the upcoming months.

Due to the injury of starting left-back Andy Robertson, Tsimikas will likely play a significant part between now and the new year.

Robertson’s absence is a serious setback for Liverpool, but former captain Hyypia said that Tsimikas is prepared to step in while addressing at an LFC Foundation event via RTE.

“I think he [Tsimikas] will get a lot of responsibility now, and he has his chance to show what kind of player he is,” the 50-year-old said. “I hope he’s brave and seizes the opportunity. I have faith in Jurgen, but if it doesn’t work he needs to come up with another plan to fix the issue.

There wouldn’t have been any discussion regarding Tsimikas’ capacity to succeed Robertson if his injury had occurred a few years earlier.

There has been sincere speculation that the Greek might be Klopp’s best choice at various periods during the 2021–2022 season.

However, there has been a minor decline in confidence in Tsimikas since then. The difference in quality between the two players seems to be getting worse faster than it should.
