Liverpool have been interested in signing Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Napoli for some time, and according to recent rumors, they have struck terms on a contract.
According to Valter De Maggio, the African striker has decided to join the Reds after declining to extend his contract with the Italian champions.
Osimhen received the Paolo Rossi award last season after scoring 31 goals in all competitions for Napoli. Nonetheless, he is paid a comparatively moderate salary of £75,000 each week.
The Scudetto winners valued him at roughly £154 million in the summer transfer window after a fantastic season, but the price has since reduced.
According to a report published yesterday by Calcio Mercato, club president Aurelio de Laurentiis intends to recoup roughly £87 million (100 million euros) from the sale of his prized asset.
The 24-year-old has scored 20 goals in 27 appearances for Nigeria and is currently one of the finest goal scorers in the game.
