Wrexham co-owner blast Wycombe after defeat

Hollywood star and Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds was spotted celebrating after Wycombe’s defeat left his side on the brink of another promotion. Reynolds thrilled as Wycombe lose to Leyton Orient Wrexham take on Charlton at home on Saturday On the verge of securing historic third consecutive promotion.

Wycombe Wanderers, who are two points behind Wrexham in the League One table, clashed against Leyton Orient away from home in an early Saturday kick-off. Randell Williams was on target for Leyton as they edged out the visitors to hand Wrexham a major advantage in the Championship promotion race.

The Red Dragons can now secure a direct promotion to the English second tier if they beat Charlton Athletic at their home later on Saturday. A few hours before the crucial encounter, American actor and co-owner Ryan Reynolds was spotted in the SToK Cae Ras stadium stands. The moment he came to know about Wycombe’s defeat, Reynolds raised his fist in the air to celebrate.

 

Reynolds had earlier admitted that he is extremely tense and had joked that the stress of another Wrexham promotion push has given him an “eight-inch ulcer” and caused “receding hairlines”.

Phil Parkinson’s side will give their all in their final home game of the 2024-25 campaign as they host Charlton on Saturday evening. A win will help the Welsh secure a third consecutive promotion, a feat that no club in English football’s history has achieved in the past.
