The Super League players facing bans including two Hull FC stars

In addition to setting attendance and attention records, the Super League’s Rivals Round was a noteworthy first for the 2025 campaign.

It should come as no surprise that the season’s first red card was given in one of the weekend’s two major derby games.

When the Match Review Panel meets on Monday to examine the action over the Bank Holiday weekend, a number of disciplinary flashpoints will undoubtedly be examined.

These are the players who might run into problems.
Hull FC’s Cade Cust
The Super League’s first red card of 2025 was given to Hull FC half-back Cade Cust for a dangerous tackle on Hull KR fullback Arthur Mourgue, making it the weekend’s major disciplinary event.

Cust and the Frenchman both benefited from Mourgue’s forced removal from the pitch for a head assessment, which he passed. Mourgue would have received a higher penalty point penalty if he had failed.

However, considering that he was sent off, Cust should anticipate a rather heavy charge even without that. He will be facing a powerful charge.

From St. Helens, Moses Mbye
Shortly before halftime in the Good Friday derby against Wigan Warriors, the St Helens hooker was sin-binned.

After Mbye was judged to have struck the Wigan youth high, the video authorities sent him upstairs after his challenge on Zach Eckersley went unpunished at first.

The player will almost definitely be charged for it.

Ipape Edwin (Leigh Leopards)
In the last moments of the Leopards’ triumph over Warrington Wolves on Saturday afternoon, the Leigh hooker seemed to snag Marc Sneyd.

We are aware that the game has cracked down harder on late contact by half-backs in recent years. It has still to be determined whether Ipape will be charged, but don’t rule it out.
