On a section of road where his son was murdered in an accident, a parent is demanding immediate safety measures.
In January 2024, 28-year-old Ben Solly lost his life in an A37 collision between Dorchester and Yeovil that involved a truck and another vehicle.
According to his father, David, his family has started a petition as the “notorious blackspot” still shows no warning indications.
The road’s owner, Dorset Council, stated that it could not comment until the conclusion of Ben’s death inquest.
Ben is “pretty exceptional” according to Mr. Solly of Wynford Eagle. He is a talented mechanical engineer at Leonardo in Yeovil and an adventurer with plenty of friends.
Ben was driving to work when the collision occurred early on January 15, 2024, close to the staggered intersection between Cerne Abbas and Maiden Newton.
