The Philadelphia Eagles are set to compete in their second Super Bowl in three years after an impressive season. They were among the league’s top teams throughout the year and had to overcome a divisional rival on their path to the championship game.
In the NFC Championship, the Eagles dominated the Washington Commanders with a commanding 55-23 victory. This marked their second win over Washington this season.
Following the loss, the Commanders quickly made roster changes, releasing nine players as they shift focus to the 2025 season.
Commanders Release Nine Players After NFC Championship Defeat
Washington’s official X page announced that the team signed RB Kazmeir Allen, DT Viliami Fehoko Jr., G Julian Good-Jones, QB Sam Hartman, TE Tyree Jackson, DE Andre Jones Jr., WR Chris Moore, S Ben Nikkel, and TE Cole Turner to reserve/future contracts, giving them an opportunity to compete for roster spots during minicamp and training camp.
However, nine other players weren’t as fortunate. Washington parted ways with WR Brycen Tremayne, CB Kevon Seymour, OT Bobby Hart, DT Carl Davis, RB Michael Wiley, DT Haggai Ndubuisi, WR Mitchell Tinsley, CB Bobby Price, and DE Efe Obada. These players will now enter free agency in hopes of finding new opportunities elsewhere.
Despite their unexpected success, the Commanders’ season ended in disappointment. Under first-year head coach Dan Quinn and with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels leading the way, Washington exceeded expectations by reaching the Divisional Round. However, they ran into a superior Eagles team, which showcased its talent on both offense and defense in a dominant victory.
