Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Malick Thiaw from Newcastle United during the upcoming summer window, as Arne Slot prepares for potential changes in his defensive line. At the same time, the Reds are also said to be competing with Manchester City for highly rated centre-back Samson Baidoo.
With Ibrahima Konate’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Fenway Sports Group are understood to be prioritising the addition of an experienced central defender ahead of the next campaign.

According to Fussball Daten, Thiaw has emerged as a leading option to step into that role. The German outlet claims Liverpool have identified the 24-year-old Germany international as their main target should Konate depart.
However, Liverpool are not alone in monitoring the situation, with both Manchester United and Bayern Munich also credited with interest in the former AC Milan defender.
Newcastle are believed to value Thiaw at around €80 million, which equates to roughly £70 million.
